Bed-Pan.

On August 29, 1911, Maria Sofia Nilsson of Karlskrona, Sweden, patented an improved bed pan designed to give patients better control and comfort. Her invention added sturdy side handles to a tapered, oblong pan, allowing patients to steady it while shifting position.
