Cigarette Rest for Ash Receptacles.

On November 2, 1943, Rosalyn Litschgi of Saint Louis, Missouri, patented a covered ash tray with a novel system for holding cigarettes. With inclined grid supports and curved resting surfaces, her design kept wrappers dry and directed ashes neatly into the tray.
