An Improved Ointment.

On October 27, 1908, Kate Jagels, a spinster of London, and Clari Redfern, a married woman of Dalston, invented and patented a novel ointment for wounds and sores. Their formula combined cerate of calamine, resinae, minium rubrum, and lead plaster, and was intended to soothe pain and treat diseased areas.
