On September 22, 1914, Ana Ballen de Guzman of Paris patented an addition to her earlier dog-bathing tub, introducing a flexible fabric cover. Made of multiple lace-connected sections and secured by straps and rings, the adjustable cover could be easily opened to place the animal inside while keeping it safely contained during bathing.
